On Monday,
April 17th, the 7th and 8th grade Jr. High students visited the
Kansas state capitol. They took a tour of the entire capitol,
including a tour to the top of the dome under the statue of Ad
Astra.
After the excellent review
of Kansas history, they took a bus ride to the Governor's mansion
and had a tour there. They learned a fair amount of
information that they hadn't known before, including a bit about
the artwork on the walls in the mansion. It was a very
interesting day, and a great way to have fun but learn at the same
time.
