“Sing to Belong “was the theme of the Kansas Choral Directors Association ‘s Summer Convention, a 3 ½ day learning experience for choral directors.  The All-State Soprano/Alto Choir and the All-State Tenor/Bass Choir are part of this convention.  Rhett Parry, Conrad Cassell, and Dayton Winkler were selected by audition to perform in this choir, giving a performance on Friday, July 11, at Lawrence Free State High School.  They had the privilege of working with Margaret Burk, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  They prepared six songs for the event, including one in German and one in Latin.  Rhett was recognized for being accepted into the choir all four years of eligibility.  Rhett, Conrad, and Dayton also received a one rating at State Vocal Solo Competition in April.  Congratulations to all three boys for their hard work and dedication to music.
